Globe Trip is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

Globe Trip offers two types of usage: a free version where all data is stored locally on your device, and a Premium subscription (Globe Trip Cloud) that enables cloud synchronization of your data.

1. Information We Collect

Free users

Globe Trip does not require free users to create an account or provide any personal information.

The following information is stored locally on your device only:

  • Your selected home country, city, and time zone
  • Your preferred currency
  • Your trips, destinations, travel expenses, and clocks created within the app
  • Your app settings and display preferences

This data is never transmitted to any server controlled by Globe Trip.

Premium users (Globe Trip Cloud)

When you subscribe to Globe Trip Cloud, you create a Globe Trip account. The following information is collected and stored on our servers:

  • Your email address and encrypted password
  • Your trips, visited countries, cities, and itineraries
  • Your preferences (home country, currency, language)
  • Subscription status and expiration date
  • Account creation date and last sync date

This data is synchronized between your device and our secure cloud infrastructure to enable multi-device access and automatic backup.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information stored on your device or in your Globe Trip account is used solely to provide and improve your experience within the app.

Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to third parties.

For Premium users, your data is used to:

3. Data Storage & Security

Free users

All data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security mechanisms. We recommend keeping your device updated and using a screen lock to protect your information.

Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data from your device.

Premium users (Globe Trip Cloud)

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (supabase.com), a trusted cloud infrastructure provider.

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
  • Data is encrypted at rest on Supabase servers
  • Your password is never stored in plain text

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings under Globe Trip Premium → Delete my account.

Upon account deletion, all your data is immediately and permanently removed from our servers.

4. Third-Party Services

Globe Trip relies on the following third-party services. These services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

All users

  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store — for app distribution and updates
  • WeatherAPI.com — to provide weather forecasts and information
  • MoneyConvert.net — to provide currency exchange rates
  • Map and route providers — to display maps and geographic information

Premium users only

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — for secure cloud storage, authentication, and data synchronization. Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
  • RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — for subscription and payment management. Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store — for processing in-app subscription payments

We encourage users to review the privacy policies of these third-party providers for more information about how their data is handled.

5. Advertising

Globe Trip may display advertisements for free users provided by third-party advertising partners.

These advertisements help support the development and maintenance of the app and allow Globe Trip to remain available free of charge.

Advertising providers may automatically collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system, approximate location, advertising identifiers, and app interaction data in order to display and improve ads.

Globe Trip does not sell your personal data to advertisers.

Premium users (Globe Trip Cloud subscribers) do not see advertisements.

6. Permissions

Globe Trip may request access to certain device features in order to provide specific functionalities within the app.

Globe Trip only accesses these features when required by a user action. Permissions can be managed or revoked at any time through your device settings.

7. Data Retention

Free users

Data is stored locally on your device for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling the app removes all data.

Premium users

Your data is retained on our servers for as long as your account exists. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains stored and accessible if you resubscribe.

If you delete your account, all your data is permanently and immediately deleted from our servers and cannot be recovered.

8. Children's Privacy

Globe Trip is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights

Free users

Since Globe Trip stores data locally on your device, you have full control over your information at all times. You can:

  • View and edit your data directly within the app
  • Delete individual trips or all data from the app settings
  • Uninstall the app to remove all stored data

Premium users (Globe Trip Cloud)

In addition to the rights above, Premium users can:

  • Access all their data from any device at any time
  • Permanently delete their account and all associated data from Settings → Delete my account
  • Request a copy of their data by contacting us at support.globetrip@gmail.com
  • Update their email address or password from the app settings

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), European users have the right to access, rectify, and erase their personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact us at support.globetrip@gmail.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new 'Last updated' date at the top of this page.

For significant changes affecting Premium users, we will notify you by email at the address associated with your Globe Trip account.

We encourage all users to review this policy periodically.
